A home for artists: Trinacria’s exciting new chapter in Pezzolo
We are thrilled to share some incredible news with our community: Trinacria Theatre has been entrusted with the use of a beautiful house in Pezzolo for the next ten years! This generous donation comes from the Archidiacono and Venuti families, who, though now residing in the United States, hold deep roots in our village. Their gift marks a milestone for our organization, allowing us to expand our artistic residencies and provide even more support to artists.
For years, it has been our dream to create a dedicated space where performers, writers, artists, and creators can immerse themselves in their craft. Thanks to this remarkable act of generosity, that dream is now becoming a reality.
The house is in great condition and will serve as an inspiring retreat for artists from near and far. Already, resident artists have been able to start using the rooms and terraces as studio spaces while we work to make the entire house more livable. However, a few renovations are needed before we can officially open our doors.
We have already made great progress! Two of the three bathrooms are almost completely renovated, while the third, in good condition, only requires a new glass surround for the shower. We will soon need to purchase new single bedframes and mattresses for the three bedrooms, ensuring a comfortable stay for our residents. Additionally, we are addressing some structural repairs, including replacing all mosquito screens, fixing the leaking terraces, and restoring water-damaged walls before repainting. Every improvement brings us closer to unveiling a home that will nurture creativity and artistic collaboration.
As we work on these final touches, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. This house represents more than just a physical space; it embodies a commitment to the arts, to our village, and to the belief that creativity thrives in an environment of support and inspiration. We can't wait to welcome artists to this special place and share the beauty of Pezzolo with the world.
